Adventure Connect Camp

Thanks to the generosity of the Adventure Connect team, young people from across SJYS were able to leave the city behind and head to the Murray for two days of fun and relaxation.

Adventure Connect volunteers drove young people and workers from Foyer Port Adelaide and youth110 to Hogwash Bend at Cadell, where swag beds were set up and waiting. The next morning, they woke to the sound of kookaburras instead of cars and shared breakfast on the riverbank. The day’s activities included riding in a speedboat, jet skiing, being towed on a tyre or just relaxing on the banks with a book or craft activities. In the evening, the group enjoyed a barbecue dinner on the river bank under the light of a full moon.

Throughout the activities, Adventure Connect volunteers ensured young people participated safely, and were always on hand with reminders to ‘slip slop slap’.
